6 Foundational Stewardship Principles:
POWER STATEMENT:
God is the owner of all that we possess. His plan is that we walk in abundance and joy in every area of our life. The way we manage money is a spiritual matter. Our GIVING, SAVING, INVESTING and SPENDING are a reflection of our spiritual life and worship. We choose to handle money and resources in a way that allows us to be at the center of God’s blessing zone.
1. God is the owner of all that we posses so we are called to be stewards.
The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it, the world and all who live in it. Psalms 24:1
2. What we do with the little shows what we will do with more.
He who is faithful in a very little thing is faithful also in much; and he who is unrighteous in a very little thing is unrighteous in much. Luke 16
3. Generosity is at the heart of God’s character and should be reflected in his people.
Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. 2 Corinthians 9:10-12
4. Debt makes us a slave to another master so avoid it.
The wicked borrow and do not repay, but the righteous give generously; those the Lord blesses will inherit the land, but those he curses will be cut off. Psalms 37:21-22
5. You reap in the measure that you chose to sow in.
Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. 2 Corinthians 9:6
6. God provides the resources that we need to accomplish the work he has called us to.
And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19
