Ancient sailors used the north star and people today enter an address into their phone. In both scenarios something in the distance helps determine how a person takes their next step. In a similar fashion, Jesus tells those who follow Him that He is coming back one day. That important moment in the future influences how we live each moment today. As Jesus followers we are called to live beyond now. We are meant to live beyond mere survival thinking, instead making an eternal impact in every aspect of our lives.
