As we prepare for Easter on April 20th and our all-church baptism day on May 18th, we need your help to capture these special moments. Here’s a guide on how to take photos and videos to document these amazing events.
Types of Photos to Capture
We are looking for the following types of photos:
- Greeting Photos: People greeting each other at the door and walking into the church.
- Fellowship Photos: People engaged in conversation and talking with one another.
- Worship Photos: Shots from the back of the room of people lifting their hands in worship, or from the front looking towards the back.
- Preaching Photos: The pastor preaching and sharing the news on Easter.
- Baptism Photos: Capture several moments, including testimonies and people being submerged in the water. Aim for 3-7 photos.
Try to get at least three photos of each type mentioned above, except for baptism where more are needed.
Guidelines for Taking Photos
Follow these simple steps for taking great photos:
- Don’t be distracting: Blend in, be low-key, and subtle with your camera. Avoid getting on chairs or being intrusive.
- Maintain a respectful distance: Respect people’s space, especially for those who might be attending church for the first time.
- Don’t be afraid to stand out: Sometimes you need to stand out to capture a powerful moment, such as getting closer to the front during preaching.
- Ask for permission: Don’t be afraid to ask people if you can take their photo. Most people will be open and receptive.
- Have fun: Enjoy the process and be open to capturing spontaneous moments. People may even approach you to take photos of them with their friends or family.
Submission of Photos
Please submit your photos by the following dates and upload to the Dropbox folder:
Easter (April 20th): Submit by April 21st.
Baptism (May 18th): Submit by May 19th.
We want to share these moments on social media to celebrate what God has done. Feel free to share your photos on your own social media accounts as well, and tag our church so others can see the beautiful moments captured.
